I’m a composer, instrument builder, and field recordist. I write music for both acoustic and digitally extended or enhanced instruments and objects; I build sound environments; And I develop software for music representation and performance.
Recent creative interests have included critical explorations of instruments and found objects, live animated interactive scores, and feedback cycles between performers and stochastic processes or acoustic automata.
My music has been performed in North America, Europe, and Asia. Past collaborators include Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, Ensemble l’Itinéraire, ensemble mise-en, the NOW Ensemble, Ensemble MotoContrario, and folk duo Undlin & Wolfe. I hold degrees in music and philosophy from Lawrence University and a masters degree in Digital Musics from Dartmouth College. I’m currently pursuing a Fulbright-Nehru research fellowship in Mysuru, India until June 2018.
